Danielle, I recently heard from two Rome women bloggers that right now they think that Rome is less crowded than normal (likened it almost to Covid times). They are not getting tour bookings and were speculating that people were staying away because everyone says it will be crowded due to the Jubilee. That is different that what you stated. Just wanted your perspective. We are planning a trip to Italy in the Fall and will include Rome. Grazie.
As someone who books hotels for my clients. I would definitely not agree. I was in Rome two weeks ago and it was definitely busier than the usual March. One thing that might be possible is that the more niche tours are receiving less bookings as certain kinds of travelers are staying away because of the crowds of religious pilgrims and big bus travelers. Those estimates are currently at 70,000 people per week more than usual.
