When we were in Modena this January, we also got some questions about US politics, though not from Italians. A young couple from Austraila had strong opinions that they shared first (and fortunately, we agreed). And, a nice Ukrainian couple (who were helping us with our Italian in our first visit to our FAVORITE coffee bar in Modena), also had some comments (as you can well imagine). Our goal, in both instances, was to leave them with an impression that we were good, friendly and kind people from the US:)
