I love this story-- and that photo of the Modernist dreamscape with the vintage cars outside is Fellini-eque. I remember a desperate search for a lunch spot in the backwoods of Le Marche that led us to a similar trattoria behind a factory, filled with workers and truckers. I could never find the spot again, but never forgot the simple, pure beauty of the meal they served.
Interested in taking the Spring 2024 cooking workshop. Are there any reviews of the workshops anywhere other than on your website? Publications, other websites? The workshop sounds incredible but need to do due diligence in order to spend the money!
Of course! These specific workshops are new so there are no reviews for them yet, but you can certainly read the reviews of Borgo La Pietraia on TripAdvisor and Booking dot com. You can also read the reviews of Arthur Avenue Food Tours for the food experiences I have created in New York, and there are a handful of reviews from past tours on the Feast Travel Facebook page.
Danielle, Thank you for being a food explorer of the most - to me - valuable kind. I too have experienced the drastic shift in the quality of food in Italy over the years. Maybe people like you and Anita will start a trend.
I've felt that same sob rising...thank you for the memory.
What food did it for you?

Thank you so much! A trattoria behind a factory in Le Marche sounds exactly like my kind of spot.
Apparently substack is confused & won't accept my direct reply: ragù, fried artichokes, fried cardi....and much more.

Thank you so much Danielle. Will look into all of it.
